October 3, 2008 4 1/2 months ago a 30-year-female was confined to a wheelchair. She suffered from severe pain in her lower extremities and right upper extremity. Following two sessions of 3-day 4-hour ketamine infusions on an outpatient basis she is able to walk on her heels and toes. In addition, she is able to use her right upper extremity without pain. The graphs below illustrate that following the recent administration of escalating doses of IV ketamine there was normalization of pain thresholds.
