Before and After the 3-day, 4-hour Ketamine  Infusion

May 22 , 2000

Nine years ago the patient suffered an injury to her right thigh. The symptoms of CRPS then spread to all extremities, abdomen, chest and face regions. The patient became confined to a wheelchair.

Approximately 2.5 years ago the patient underwent the 5-day ketamine coma procedure in Monterrey, Mexico. The patient reported a remarkable improvement in pain and function. She has required fewer follow-up ketamine infusions over time. In the video linked below, the patient relates how the 3-day ketamine outpatient infusion provided more benefit with few side effects than a single day infusion.

During the 3-day ketamine infusion the patient's vital signs were stable up to a dose of ketamine at 200 mg / hour. Nausea and vomiting was treated effectively with oral Zolfran.

Twenty-four (24) hours after the infusion was stopped, the patient reported improved range of motion in all extremities and the face with less pain. (See improved pain thresholds below). The patient was able to walk on her heels, which was impossible before the 3-day ketamine infusion.
