Gustavo Roman, MD and Anthony Kirkpatrick, MD, PhD, are longstanding members of the Scientific Advisory Committee for the International Research Foundation for RSD / CRPS.

Aside from their commitment to research and education on RSD / CRPS, they share another passion. Their research over the past decade showed that the US embargo against Cuba includes a blockade on medicines to the island nation. This medical blockade has had a devastating effect on the health of the Cuban people. ( 1-11)

In collaboration with Dr. Victor Sidel, they are constructing a website in seven languages which will bring attention to this healthcare issue.

"It is time to take this monkey off the backs of the Cuban people and place the guilt squarely on the back of the US Government", Dr. Kirkpatrick said.
